Christos Stanisis was born in Thessaloniki (Greece). He was taught the art of Silhouette Shadow Theatre by Evgenios Spatharis. In 1993 he officially becomes active and gives performances in Greece and abroad for childcare centers, kinder gardens, primary schools, high schools, universities, Municipality shows, cultural centers, theatres, concert venues, (Milos Thessaloniki ( MYLOS), Yialino Mousiko Theatro (Glass Music Theatre) etc. for conferences, museums and Megaro Mousikis (Thessaloniki Concert Hall Organization) etc. Since 1996 he begins a cycle of performances in collaboration with different singers, musicians and actors. Petro Tambouri, Dimitri Lekka, Christo Tsiamouli, Ross Daly, Christodoulo Halary, Dilec Koch, Yianni Mitsi, Evgenio Dermitasoglou, Niko Dimitrato, Agathona, Psarandoni, musical performers LOXANDRA and others. In December 1999 he plays in the closing performance in the First International Puppet Show and Pantomime Festival of Kilkis. In September 2000 he takes part in the First Silhouette Shadow Theatre Festival of Spathario Museum. In October 2003 he takes part in the musical performance EROTOKRITO in collaboration with Ross Daly which is supported by eight musicians. In October 2004 together with Niko Avagiano, they put on a show called ZEI (Is alive). Music by Mimi Plessa and lyrics by Kosta Virvo. They are escorted by singers Yiannis Tsamis, Giorgos Kalaitzis and the music choir Thamiris, whilst the Municipality of Thessaloniki traditional dance group dances. In 2004 he also acclaims an award for the performance of EROTOKRITOS in THE GREEK SHADOW THEATRE FESTIVAL in Patra. In October 2005 he produces the performance of IFIGENIA OF EVRIPIDIS escorted by an orchestra of traditional instruments which he presents to an international festival. In 2006 together with the theatre company HOROS and the director Simo Kakala they direct the staging of the shadow theatre in Golfo. Within the same year he produces EROTOKRITO again in a new version of popular opera with shadows Performed by Vasilis Stavrakis as the poet, Illias Andreoulakis as Rotokritos, Elsa Mouratidou as Areti, Ross Daly playing the lyre, and together with nine other musicians. At Easter of 2007 he produces PATHI TA SEPTA Byzantine hymns of Holy Week sung by Nikos Dimitratos and is escorted by an orchestra of traditional instruments. Within the same year he takes part in GARGALISTI by Dimitri Baslam, directed by Andoni Kafetzopoulo and Argiri Bakirtzi as singer. At Easter 2008 he produces the Byzantine drama O ROMANOS O MELODOS KE TO THIO PATHOS accompanied by his orchestrated hymns which are performed by an orchestra with reconstructed Byzantine instruments. The hymns are sung by popular artists, Fotis Theodoridis, Tania Melliou and Christos Roidis who also has the role of the narrator. At Christmas 2008 he produces the play CHRISTOUGENIATIKES NIHTES (Christmas Nights) by Alexandros Papadiamandis, together with Christo Roidi in the role of Papadiamandi whilst accompanied by traditional instruments. In the summer of 2009 he takes part in the musical performance SINANDISI MEGALON ANDRON (Meeting of Great Men) together with Christo Papadopoulo and Vasili Lekka. In October of the same year he produces MEGALEXANDRO KE TO FIDI (Alexander The Great And The Snake), dedicated to the memory of his teacher Evgenio Spathari together with musicians and singers, Kostas Voutiras as Barba Giorgos, Christos Mastelos as Veligekas, Fotis Theodoridis, Hatziavatis, Christos Roidis as Beis, Dimitris Nikolodis as Sior Dionisios, Argiris Bakirtzis as Morfonios, Kostas Pratsinakis as Stavrakis, Vasilis Pratsinakis as Evreos (Jewish), Giorgos Aetopoulos as Alexander The Great, Andreas Karakotas as Korifeos. In 2010 he collaborates with Kosta Alexandridi and MOMOGEROUS and they present the performance of ELLINON ODYSSEA (Greek Odyssey). In October 2011 he produces KARAGIOZIS VS LISISTRATI with Melina Kana as Lisistrati. Mihalis Papazisis and Stathis pahithis sing, and music and lyrics are written by Pahithis and Christo Roidi. In summer of 2012 he produces ARISTOFANOUS COMEDY with music written by Stavro Xarhako and tours throughout Cyprus. From 2000 until 2012 he produces GREECE THROUGH SILHOUETTE SHADOW THEATRE on TV 100 (Municipal TV Thessaloniki). Christos Stanisis has also participated in TESSERIS DROMI GIA TON EROTOKRITO with Loudoviko Ton Anogion, Psarandoni and Evgenio Spathari. He has taught Silhouette Shadow Theatre in Drama School of National Theatre of Northern Greece, and in the Private Education Sector. Christos Stanisis is co worker of The Silhouette Shadow Theatre Museum Evgenios Spatharis. Also he is co worker of The Folklore Museum of Thessaloniki. Hi is a member of FINE ART ARTISTS ASSOCIATION OF NORTHERN GREECE (S.K.E.T.B.E) His figures are exhibited at the Silhouette Shadow Theatre Museum Evgenios Spatharis and in collections of other museums, foundations and private collections.
