Zachos Samoladas

Zachos Samoladas was born in Thessaloniki on August 26, 1967. In 1983 an S8 film camera led to the creation of his first animated short. By 1986 the Greek State television ET1 aired 6 of his animated shorts. He studied Experimental Animation at CalArts with legendary animator Jules Engel as his mentor. His studies also include a degree in film direction from the Eugenia Hatzikou film school in Athens. His 1997 animated short tiled "GENESIS" is the first Greek animated film over 20 minutes. Zachos Samoladas is acting deputy Technical Director at the Municipal Company for Information Communication and Entertainment (TV100, FM100,FM100.6) of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, Greece Executive Production Manager at the Municipal Television of Thessaloniki TV100, member of the Greek Directors Guild and ASIFA Hellas

O Ζάχος Σαμολαδάς γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη to 1967 όπου και ζει μέχρι σήμερα. Σπούδασε σκηνοθεσία στη Σχολή Χατζίκου και Experimental Animation στο CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS στο Los Angeles. Η πρώτη εμφάνιση ως σκηνοθέτη του έγινε μέσα από τις εκπομπές του Νίκου Πιλάβιου στην ΕΡΤ το 1984, με ταινίες κινουμένων σχεδίων της οποίες σχεδίαζε και σκηνοθετούσε. Μετά το τέλος των σπουδών και την επιστροφή του από την Αμερική επέστρεψε στην Θεσσαλονίκη όπου εργάζεται στη Δημοτική Τηλεόραση Θεσσαλονίκης.H μικρού μήκους ταινία animation που δημιούργησε το 1997 με τίτλο "ΓΕΝΕΣΙΣ" είναι η πρώτη ελληνική ταινία animation με διάρκεια μεγαλύτερη των 20'. Είναι μέλος της Εταιρείας Σκηνοθετών, της ASIFA Hellas και Αναπληρωτής Τεχνικός Διευθυντής στη Δημοτική Εταιρεία Πληροφόρησης Θεάματος και Επικοινωνίας (Δ.Ε.Π.Θ.Ε.) του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης.
